Local Marketing Agency Acknowledged for Tourism Award

Albany, NY (January 24, 2011) – On January 12, the Lake Placid CVB/Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism (LPCVB/ROOST) awarded Fort Ticonderoga, historic site in Essex County, New York, the 2011 Tourism Marketing Award, part of the second annual Destination Awards.

BrawnMedia implemented the recognized marketing strategy of Fort Ticonderoga to include the branding as “America’s Fort” in all of its messaging through the 2011 season. BrawnMedia designed and produced marketing and advertising material for Fort Ticonderoga, including TV and radio commercials, online advertising, public relations efforts and print such as brochures, travel guides, magazines and maps.
The Tourism Marketing Award is given to a group or individual who produced or launched an innovative tourism marketing product or initiative in 2011. Fort Ticonderoga received the award based on their strategic marketing plan in 2011 to market itself as America’s Fort.

The 2011 Destination Award nominees were submitted by their peers, and the winners were selected by the LPCVB/ROOST Board of Directors. The award is one of three awards part of the second annual Destination Awards and given to those who made the greatest contributions toward achieving a sustainable tourism economy for Essex County.
